An Interdisciplinary Analysis of the Role of International Law in Promoting Human Rights
(International Court of Justice, The Hague; February 4th-5th, 2015)
The year 2015, which will mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations and the creation of the UN International Court of Justice, represents the major transitions that have taken place in the development of global human rights towards a more equal and protected civil society.
The contemporary international law system, which encompasses a diverse collection of international accords, UN charters, agreements, treaties, tribunals and the legal precedents of the IJC, serves today as the primary pillar for the protection and the development of human rights globally.
The Summit will bring together legislators, members of the judiciary, representatives from global governance institutions, and stakeholders from around the world to discuss and prepare recommendations and a list of concrete activities for the future development of the international law system to support human rights globally.
